Now I managed to just grind and level to the point where these enemies no longer felt like they were taking too long to dispatch, but the game inadvertently encourages this when your average enemy can become quite a chore to get past if you’re going to fight them. I’ve mentioned earlier that some enemies take quite a long time to defeat, and this is due in part to this stat system. When you have a stat system like this, you introduce a very linear path in terms of progression and balance. This is mostly fine but it introduces some issues as well. As you go through the game, fighting enemies and bosses, you will gain experience to level up and so you can allocate points into these stats. Strength increases your damage with melee weapons and your stamina, wisdom increases your magic damage and mana points, and dexterity increases your critical strike chance and damage while also increasing damage from bows, knives, whips, and throwing axes. Elderand does have a few side quests you can complete, such as blacksmith and taking on challenges in the battle arena.Elderand features a stat system that is pretty simple, spread across four familiar core key attributes – vitality, strength, wisdom, and dexterity. Discover the many levels of this perilous land, such as an inviting village with merchants, a dark forest, a temple prison, the floating islands, a cursed Cathedral, and the hellish world that is Elderand itself. Weapons can also be upgraded by an NPC in one of the villages if you complete a quest for him he’s missing a hammer. Collect loot from exploration and fallen enemies to then use it in order to upgrade your weapons and armor via the included in-game crafting system. In addition to your weapons, you can also equip armor and two accessories, the latter from what I found were reserved for various rings. Unique relics, potions, weapons, shields, and some resources that are still untouched. As I mentioned, those points can be allocated to one of four categories. Discover, buy, and conquer tons of items as you cross strange worlds. You earn these points by killing enemies which earns you XP and eventually allows you to level up. Elderand: 10 Best Weapons 10 Charmed Staff: Simple But Deadly 9 Rattlesnake: A Speedy Dual Wield 8 Ripper Ring: A Saw-Summoning Accessory 7. Satisfying Metroidvania-style exploration meets. But you will also find a chest with mana and health upgrades which are nice because if you decide to spend your level up point in attack or magic, you may not get as many HP increases until you can respec those points later on in the game. Elderand Wield an arsenal of killing devices, including whips, swords, daggers, axes, bows, and more. While you may be aware of the chest trap, there is another weapon here thats free for. In addition to that, 100ing the map will take many hours to complete, making Elderand a fantastic bang for your buck title. The inclusion of dozens and dozens of unique weapons allows for continued gameplay from different playstyle directions. You do have your typical upgrades such as double jump, hook shot, dash, etc. To find this weapon, make your way to the Dragon Burnt Ruins in the southern part of the lake in Limgrave. Elderand on Nintendo Switch is an excellent indie game Metroidvania with a lot to offer for its price. After speaking with them and learning more about the cult, you continue on your quest.Įlderand offers the player a lot of flexibility and stats compared to many Metroidvania games, which is a nice deviation from the norm. Eventually, you will make it there, talk to Guam and the other folks, such as Pascal, who built the village. He will tell you that he is heading back to the village of Terrakan where peace still exists and to look for him there if you happen to make it there. Guam will give you some insights into Elderand and that it has become overrun with all sorts of beasts and creatures, but with no idea as to why. Shortly after your adventure begins, you will rescue Guam from the spider boss, Shakna. I'm grinding out mobs on Switch just to get other whips, so far, no dice. It’s an end game item though that you don’t get until you can get passed the crystal/rock walls. You awake on the shores of a cave, Delinquents Breach, after your ship has been totally destroyed. 1 Boodz Feb 18 4:20am Originally posted by CID: The Lasher’s Whip, which causes shock damage, is the best whip I have found so far. As you set out on this quest, your ship is struck with lighting and the sea becomes treacherous. Completing this mission won’t be as easy as it reads on the cloth contract, though. With your character created, you then learn that you are the one capable of destroying the evil that Sserthris, the tyrant of the sands, has spread across the land. Elderand opens with a simple character creation system.
